After a longer than anticipated walk in the sweltering heat to the airport, I met Livi and we made our way to our hostel in Cairns. We wondered around town and visited the Botanical Gardens. We slid down a rock slide, swam under a waterfall and swam in a lake before heading for Magnetic Island. On Magnetic Island we met up with George and rented a car to tour the island. We were so excited to rent an open top 4WD, until it started pouring and we were stranded in the rain. We then headed down to Airlie Beach and got a boat around the Whitsundays. We then continued our way down the coast to Hervey Bay and got a sunset ride around Fraser Island. Our final stop was in Byron Bay Where we walked up to the most eastern point of Australia to watch the sunrise.
